  • Jake's Jamaican Off-Road Triathlon

Been to St. Croix and Gulf Coast and want to try something new? Do you long for a tropical escape with a low key, fun off road triathlon? You're prayers have been answered!

We just received this note from one of the original founders of the United States Triathlon Series (USTS), Jim Curl:

Just a quick note to tell you about something special we're putting on in Jamaica on May 11, 2002. Jake's Jamaican Off-Road Triathlon ( is a truly unspoiled event in one of the least touristed and most beautiful parts of the island - Treasure Beach on the south shore of Jamaica. . It's like a Jamaican "Pamplona"; a whole community that has a festival and turns out to watch and cheer on this event which has been mostly locals for the last 6 years. This year, they agreed to open it up to a max of 100 Internationals. Air Jamaica has direct RT flights out of LA, Chicago, NY, Boston and DC to Montego Bay for around $600; rooms are $20 to $100 and the food is local and good. There's an off-road clinic available from ex-off-road tri world champ Jimmy Riccitello and Reggae parties and dinners and tours and a bunch of other stuff. Hope you can make it.

    Walk good.
