It's the Ford Ironman World Championship and I don't have any time to be writing no doggone stories about Macca, Normann, Faris, Crowie, Belly, Brownie, Thunderbear, Chrissie, Jo, Major Kate, Marino, Eneko, Lieto, Keat, VonVlerken, Nina, Luc, etc., etc.

Teri Albertazzi and Heather Fuhr are dwarfed by our favorite Estonian, Ain Alar Juhanson. One of our nicknames for the biggest professional male is Jaws – of James Bond Fame – because we’re all certain that the only cars he could possible drive would have to have a sun roof and/or be convertibles. Both Teri and Ain Alar are coached by our staff leprechaun, Jimmy Riccitello.

He’s back and looking better than ever. This is our gratuitous “a little something for the ladies” shot of Mike “Beefcake” Dannelly. Mike is looking as fit as ever and has wised up this year and will be a spectator. Hawaii can be such a fun place when you don’t have to race!

Craig Alexander was 2nd in his first Ford Ironman Hawaii World Championship last year. You know he’s not back because he wants to be 2nd again. Looking fit and on the same trajectory as he was last year based on recent results, Crowie is definitely one of the favorites to contend for the win on race day.

Ain Alar and coach Jimmy compare belly boilers…I think Riccitello might win this one. We had this same picture last year and, correct me if I’m wrong but is Jimmy getting smaller or is Ain getting bigger?

There are legends and then there’s Bill Bell! Bill finished an Ironman at 80 and Huddle tries to get some of Bill’s mana to rub off on him.

Huddle and Rich Propst get a photo op at the expo. Rich is both a first time Ironman athlete and Ford Ironman Hawaii Ironman athlete by virtue of the lottery. There is no bigger smile on the Big Island.

Anchors Away! The Navy SEALS are in Kona and two of the 4 to 6-SEAL Sky Divers who will be jumping out of planes at the start of the race will then jump into a zodiac, strip down to swim suits, and start the Ford Ironman World Championship! That is so cool! Huddle tries to be cool as he prays that Keith Davids (l) and David Goggins (r) don’t put him in a choke hold.

Martha Long, aka, Sugar, stops by the Multisports.com booth to say hi. Martha looks WAY too relaxed three days before the Big Dance!

What’s Olympian Matt Reed doing in Kona?!! Evidently he’s not racing but representing his new bike sponsor, Fuji, at the expo. Ok, if he’s here and stays for the race, no one’s going to convince me that he won’t be bitten by the bug. Maybe he’ll be in Clearwater and make his move to Ironman a’la Craig Alexander and Andy Potts.

Paula and Ian Sweet pose for a quick photo at the Ironman.com production meeting. Ian has been one of the most prolific cameramen in the sport of triathlon since the inception of the sport. He’s commentated, produced and shot just about every race there is and, once again, will be a primary part of the Ironman.com webcast. Now you know.

There will be no more stories unless we come across a little time. You'll have to get by with pictures.
